Carphone Warehouse named High Street Retailer of the Year by What Mobile magazine.

Carphone Warehouse has topped the What Mobile High Street Retailer list for the ninth year running to cement its position as the leading independent mobile phone retailer in the UK, offering customers smarter comparison for better value.

Carphone Warehouse named a finalist for the 2015 Oracle Retail Week Awards.

Carphone Warehouse has been shortlisted for the Retail Technology Initiative at the Year category for this year’s Retail Week Awards, in recognition of the success of its in-store assisted sale comparison tool, Pin Point, which was launched last year. Carphone Warehouse invested £10 million to create the tool and tailor its business in response to this new consumer demand. The first tablet-based service to combine digital technology with human expertise, it compares over 92,000 tariffs and handset combinations available at Carphone Warehouse, allowing customers to understand their requirements now and in the future, and find a solution tailored to them.

With a 24% increase in entries, this year has seen the highest number of retailers participating in the awards’ history, resulting in 112 finalists.  Each of the 14 categories rewards the leading names in UK retail for their standards of excellence and innovation in managing the ever-changing demands of today’s shopper.

The shortlist will be judged by a panel of leading industry authorities, including: Alex Baldock, Chief Executive Officer at Shop Direct; Andy Clarke, President & Chief Executive Officer at Asda; Peter Ruis, Chief Executive Officer at Jigsaw; John King, Chief Executive Officer at House of Fraser.

The awards ceremony in March will be hosted by celebrated comedian and actor Steven Mangan, best known and admired for his film & TV roles in Green Wing, Episodes and Rush and most recently on stage in London’s West End play ‘Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense’.
