The Carphone Warehouse has invested heavily in the relaunch of its interactive TV service on Sky Digital’s Open platform. The site which goes live today is part of an on-going brand consistency drive that the company is undertaking across all channels. The new iTV service provides Open’s 4.8 million customers with an expanded product range of mobile handsets, accessories, PDAs and landline phones. In addition the site now offers customers the chance to add the latest chart topping ringtones to their mobile phones.
Comments Ady Guthrie, Head of UK E Commerce at The Carphone Warehouse, “Since we launched our interative TV site on Open 18 months ago, we have been extremely pleased with the success of the channel. We’re always looking at ways of improving our services and have focused on simplifying the sign-posting, navigation and purchasing process for our customers. Not only is the interface popular with our existing customer base, as a quick and easy way of upgrading their handsets and purchasing accessories, but we have found that it has developed a new market in rural areas that don’t have easy access to the high street or to http://www.carphonewarehouse.com.”
Deepend London, The Carphone Warehouse’s incumbent iTV agency, completely redesigned the interface in line with recent rebranding and redeveloped the navigation and facilities to simplify the retail experience. The Carphone Warehouse has also recently signed agreements with On Digital’s On Net service and Telewest, with a view to retail the company’s full product range including subscription contracts towards the end of the year.
