The Carphone Warehouse launches ‘Music Anywhere’

The Carphone Warehouse is today, Tuesday 3 August, launching ‘Music Anywhere’, a ground-breaking service giving users access to their entire music library wherever they are in the world. For an annual fee of £29.99, Music Anywhere allows customers to stream all tracks from their personal collection via The Carphone Warehouse’s online My Hub portal, whether on a computer, laptop, smartphone or PDA.

Users can download the Music Anywhere application by subscribing to The Carphone Warehouse’s My Hub portal at or in one of the retailer’s 800 plus UK stores. Using sophisticated Music Anywhere technology to quickly recognise the music files already saved on the computer, the service works by providing users instant access to the same tracks on their My Hub account. 

In addition to being able to access entire music collections through the web, Music Anywhere makes it easy for consumers to legally and seamlessly access their music on the move by downloading the Music Anywhere App (The Carphone Warehouse’s first ever app) from the Apple App Store, Android Market or the BlackBerry App World. Working on iPhones, BlackBerries and a range of Android handsets, the mobile service automatically downloads the 500 most played songs and enables them to be stored on the device to give uninterrupted listening without the need for an internet connection.
Music Anywhere also allows users to organise their music, create playlists, watch music videos, check out song lyrics, play podcasts and rate their favourite songs. Music lovers can even add tracks to their collection while out and about and then download them to their home computer. What’s more, the service will be pre-loaded onto the Samsung Galaxy Europa, so customers will receive all the benefits for free.

The Carphone Warehouse has partnered with Catch Media to launch ‘Music Anywhere’, using Catch Media’s award winning ‘Play Anywhere’ technology.
